Job summary

CFC Underwriting in London is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Technology team. You will design, build and support the applications and services that underpin our global insurance platform, working across the full software development lifecycle.

In this role, you will collaborate with Product Owners and engineers to deliver high-quality solutions using Angular and .NET Core, while building cloud-native services on Microsoft Azure.

Qualifications

• Experience developing software in agile environments.
• Strong knowledge of .NET/.NET Core and ASP.NET.
• Experience with Angular or similar front-end frameworks.
• Experience working in cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Knowledge of SQL Server and T-SQL.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, testing and automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain applications using Angular and .NET/.NET Core technologies.
• Build and enhance cloud-native services within Microsoft Azure.
• Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from discovery and design through to deployment and support.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, engineers and technical leads to deliver high-quality solutions aligned to business priorities.
• Investigate and resolve production issues to ensure platform stability, performance and reliability.
• Participate in agile delivery practices including refinement, sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Contribute to code reviews, pair programming and engineering best practices across the team.
• Support the development of scalable, maintainable and secure solutions through strong testing and automation practices.
• Contribute to solution design discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Utilise AI-assisted development tools responsibly while maintaining ownership of quality, security and technical outcomes.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Experience developing and supporting software solutions within an agile environment.
• Strong knowledge of .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET and modern web application development.
• Experience with Angular or similar front-end frameworks.
• Experience working within cloud environments, ideally Microsoft Azure.
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, T‑SQL and data-driven application development.
• Understanding of software design principles, development best practices and modern engineering approaches.
• Experience with testing frameworks, automation and CI/CD practices.
• Familiarity with tools such as Entity Framework and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A collaborative mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
