TRAKD is recruiting a Software Engineer (Junior/Mid-Level) to join as part of the founding team. You will build AI-powered features across the full stack, owning work end-to-end with minimal supervision and engaging directly with customers during demos.

Remote in the UK with an optional Fulham office, you’ll collaborate closely with a senior engineer to shape the product and the company, while working on exciting AI-enabled workflows for interior design projects.

Software Engineer (Junior / Mid-Level) – AI Product Salary: £45,000 + equity

Location: Remote, anywhere in the UK (e.g. London, Manchester, Bristol, Edinburgh). There’s an optional office in Fulham, London. Stack: React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, AI/LLM tooling

About the company

We’re working with an early-stage startup, backed by tech investors, that’s building an AI operating system for interior design and architecture studios.

Designers are great at design, but a lot of their week goes on admin. They write client proposals, chase suppliers for prices and lead times, track hundreds of items across several projects, and try to work out whether a project is making money. Our client’s platform takes that work off their hands. It brings projects, procurement, finances and invoicing into one place:

• Projects and procurement: every item, supplier and decision lives in one place, and specs and pricing come straight from supplier websites.
• Automation: clients, suppliers and contractors are updated automatically when something changes.
• Financial clarity: live margins on every project and billable hours tracked.
• AI assistant: AI agents flag risks, suggest priorities and draft communications. The designer approves everything before it goes out.

The role

This is a rare chance for a junior to mid-level engineer to join a startup as part of the founding team. You’ll work closely with their senior engineer and play a big part in shaping both the product and the company.

You’ll build AI agents, automation and new features across the full stack. They’ll trust you to take ownership: once a plan is agreed, you’ll deliver features end to end without close supervision. You’ll also work directly with customers and help on demos with prospects.

What they’re looking for

• Full-stack experience with React, TypeScript and a SQL database (ideally PostgreSQL)
• You’ve built and shipped a real product, commercially or as a serious side project
• Comfortable on the backend as well as the frontend
• A can-do, self-starter attitude: you take ownership and get things done in a fast-moving, early-stage environment
• Good communication skills, and comfortable speaking directly with customers
• A product- and customer-focused mindset
• Hands-on use of AI tools in your development workflow

A degree isn’t essential. A can-do, self-starter attitude and evidence of what you’ve built matter just as much as formal qualifications, so self-taught and bootcamp engineers are encouraged to apply.

Nice to have

• Experience building with LLMs or AI agents
• Previous startup experience
