Job summary

Yellowbrick in London is seeking a Software Developer to join our R&D team building the world's best database for data warehousing. You’ll work on query execution, performance optimization, cluster management, security and debugging field issues.

You’ll contribute across the software stack, tackle concurrency, and use AI assistants like Codex and Claude to accelerate development. The role focuses on delivering scalable data warehouse microservices and solving real customer problems.

Qualifications

• Internals of open source or commercial database
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker and Helm
• Machine Learning systems/platforms
• Hashing, sorting, searching, aggregation
• Strong knowledge of C and C++ and working knowledge of Java
• Multi-core programming and memory models
• File systems and storage APIs
• 2-5 years of relevant work experience
• Distributed algorithms
• Indexing
• Experience developing software for Linux
• Operating systems – kernels, threading, scheduling, memory management
• TCP and RDMA networking
• Fundamental computer science – as many of these as possible
• Strong debugging skills with LLDB or GDB
• Compilers – front end, internals or back-ends

• SQL and relational databases
• Basic understanding of networking and storage device behaviours
