The Software Engineer will join a multidisciplinary engineering team to transition research software into production-quality medical device software.

You will work closely with hardware, systems and scientific teams, contributing to regulated development processes, requirements, traceability, risk management, verification and validation to

Qualifications

  • 3+ years' commercial software development experience in a product development environment.
  • Experience with regulated software development is advantageous.
  • Experience in requirements, traceability, risk management, testing and V&V.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain production-quality software for complex medical technology.
  • Help transition existing research software into robust, compliant medical device software.
  • Develop software interfacing with hardware, instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
  • Contribute to requirements, design controls, traceability, risk management and technical documentation.
  • Plan and execute software verification and validation activities, including unit and integration testing.
  • Help strengthen and mature software development processes within a regulated environment.

Cure Talent are delighted to be partnering with an innovative medical technology company developing a highly complex hardware and software-based medical device.

Following successful commercialisation of its technology within the research market, the business is now progressing the platform towards release as a regulated medical device. As part of this next stage of growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer to join their multidisciplinary engineering team.

The successful Software Engineer will play a key role in transitioning existing research software into production-quality medical device software. Working closely with hardware, systems and scientific teams, you’ll contribute technically while bringing practical experience of regulated software development, helping establish robust processes around requirements, traceability, risk management, verification and validation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and maintain production-quality software for complex medical technology.
  • Help transition existing research software into robust, compliant medical device software.
  • Develop software interfacing with hardware, instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
  • Contribute to requirements, design controls, traceability, risk management and technical documentation.
  • Plan and execute software verification and validation activities, including unit and integration testing.
  • Help strengthen and mature software development processes within a regulated environment.
What We’re Looking For
  • Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years' commercial software development experience within a product development environment.
  • Strong programming experience, ideally C++ or Object Pascal/Delphi, although Python, C#, C or similar languages will also be considered.
  • Practical experience working within a regulated product development environment, ideally medical devices.
  • Experience working within structured development processes covering requirements, traceability, risk management, testing and V&V.
  • IEC 62304 and/or ISO 13485 experience would be highly advantageous.
