Job summary

Amazon Selection and Catalog Systems (ASCS) seeks a passionate software engineer to join the SCP team in London. You will work on world-class, large-scale distributed systems that power the world’s largest product catalog, enabling millions of customers to find, discover and buy products 24x7x365.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in computer science, experience with Java/C++/C#, and a track record of delivering scalable, reliable software in distributed environments while collaborating

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Master's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience with full software development lifecycle, including coding standards and code reviews.
• Experience leading in building complex software systems delivered to customers.

Key job responsibilities

• - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• - Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
• - Experience designing and building large-scale systems in a multi-tiered, distributed environment (Service Oriented Architecture)
• - Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, big "O" analysis and designing for performance, scalability and availability
• - Outstanding problem-solving abilities and a clear commitment to making Amazon a great place to work

• - Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
• - Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• - Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
• - Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective, product software engineers
• - Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
