We are seeking a highly motivated Software Developer to join the Centre for Cancer Genetic Epidemiology (CCGE), within the Department of Public Health and Primary Care at the University of Cambridge.
CCGE is a world-leading research centre focused on understanding cancer susceptibility and aetiology through the analysis of large-scale genomic, epidemiological and healthcare data. Working with national and international collaborators, we develop innovative data-driven approaches to advance cancer prevention, early detection and risk-stratified healthcare.
This role offers the opportunity to develop software that supports cancer research and translates research findings into tools for clinical practice.
You will design, develop and maintain software across CCGE's research and clinical-translation portfolio, taking responsibility for defined components and projects. Working closely with the Senior Software Developer and multidisciplinary and multi-institutional colleagues, you will contribute across the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and prototyping to testing, deployment and ongoing support.
Alongside software development, you will lead the scoping, coordination and delivery of technology and service-improvement projects across the Centre. This will include engaging external suppliers, evaluating potential solutions and providing concise updates and recommendations to support decisions. You will work autonomously within agreed priorities, using initiative to move projects forward.
