Work Set Up: On-site (Open to Manchester Cheltenham or London)

Our client in the global professional services industry is looking for a Software Developer to support complex national security projects within the public sector. This role involves developing secure high-performance applications and systems leveraging both Java and Python to deliver robust back-end solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience with containerization system integration and agile delivery in highly regulated environments.

• Develop and maintains scalable back-end systems using Java and Python.
• Configure and containerize object stores using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Design and implement relational databases and optimized SQL queries.
• Integrate third-party software solutions through scripting and middleware.
• Build and deploy web-based user interfaces to enhance system functionality.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in support of national security missions.
• Apply Agile methodologies to ensure iterative and timely software delivery.
• Diagnose and resolve technical faults to maintain system reliability.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Java and Python software development.
• Strong understanding of containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with relational databases and SQL.
• Experience in integrating third-party systems and developing web-based interfaces.
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks and collaborative development environments.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Previous experience supporting national security or government-related projects preferred.
• Active eDV clearance required (note that the vetting process may take longer than usual onboarding procedures).
