Overview

The overall aim is to help support the significant growth plans for Advantage Insurance and Hastings Direct, and help differentiate us by being data and analytics leaders in the UK general insurance market.

Responsibilities
  • The primary focus of this role is to maintain, design and enhance live pricing code within our Alternative Pricing Department.
  • This code runs thousands of times a day to provide live quotes to prospective customers online.
  • Manage deployments per month and develop tools and reports to ensure code has desired effect from business perspective.
  • Follow guidance from senior management regarding deployments and work autonomously with flexibility.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, confidence in coding required.
  • Develop Python code and use GitHub; exposure ideal but can be taught on the job.
  • Handle short deployment windows and quick turnaround times.
  • Work accurately and independently with little supervision.
  • Pre-existing knowledge of UK Motor Insurance industry ideal but not required.
Qualifications
  • Experience in a software development role with strong coding skills.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Exposure to GitHub preferred.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple deployments.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with live pricing systems a plus.
