Job summary

Frazer-Nash Consultancy is seeking Software Consultants to join our Software Consultancy Teams in the UK. You will develop cutting-edge software and simulations across transport, government, defence and energy sectors, applying science, mathematics and software engineering to solve real problems for end users.

You will design modules, oversee projects, build DevOps pipelines and mentor junior colleagues, with a flexible hybrid pattern between the office, client sites and working from home.

Qualifications

• Background in science, mathematics, engineering or computer science.

Responsibilities

Location: Bristol, Leatherhead, Burton, Portsmouth, Glasgow, Gloucester

Salary: £40,000 - £75,000 dependant on experience

Working Pattern: We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer-Nash, with time split between the office, client sites and working from home.

Working within our Software Consultancy Teams, you will be working to support our customers in delivering novel technologies, approaches and software requiring a real technical appreciation and understanding of the real systems they support.

You will be involved in all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle from User Experience and GUI design, implementing and deploying new applications, and improving and advancing in-service software.

Responsibilities Of The Role

• Collate and understand complex requirements from customers presenting them in clear and concise manner


• Generate proposals and bids


• Offer project and technical oversight during the entire project lifecycle


• Design application modules, classes and methods for the team to follow


• Manage high-risk projects, ensuring they meet time, cost, and quality expectations.


• Establish and lead enduring client relationships


• Implement DevOps pipelines to manage the entire Software Development Lifecycle


• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.

We work in a wide range of languages and technologies depending on the customer (C#, C++, Python, Java, Javascript, Typescript, Angular, React to name a few) but we welcome applicants with experience in any other software development language.

The Successful Applicant Will Meet The Following Minimum Requirements

• A background in science, mathematics, engineering or computer science


• Have proven demonstrable experience of software development illustrating your interest in modern programming technologies


• An ability to discuss and present complex topics in an understandable way


• Excellent interpersonal skills to enable internal and external network development

It is to your advantage if you meet any or all the following additional requirements:

• Experience of developing new business, or maintaining key business or key account relationships, in a consultancy or similar environment


• Experience of leading the software development of engaging applications produced by empowered teams of business analysts, developers and testers.

Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-¬Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
