Software Commercial Manager

The Opportunity

To accelerate the growth of Verco’s software products, we are seeking a Software Commercial Manager to develop and deliver a compelling commercial strategy for our platforms.

This role focuses on business development—building a strong pipeline of new prospects across our core sectors and expanding into adjacent markets. You will work closely with the Product team, commercial leads and senior management to ensure alignment between client needs, platform development and market opportunity.

This is a high-impact role for someone who brings expertise in SaaS go-to-market strategy, strong commercial acumen and a passion for enabling the transition to net zero.

How You Will Contribute
Go-to-Market Strategy
  • Refine and evolve our go-to-market strategy for MyVerco and associated wrapper solutions.
  • Develop a delivery plan aligned with the product roadmap, client needs and integrated consulting services.
  • Position the platform to deliver a compelling value proposition across our target sectors.
Business Development
  • Deliver against the existing sales pipeline and build new prospects through proactive outreach.
  • Engage directly with potential clients, supported by market experts and account managers.
  • Grow a strong and sustainable prospect pipeline aligned with business projections.
External Representation & Market Positioning
  • Serve as an external champion for the platform through networking, events and marketing activity.
  • Clearly articulate the platform’s value proposition and its role in enabling net zero delivery.
Strategic Product Input
  • Provide market insights and client feedback to guide product development.
  • Contribute to the refinement of wrapper services and evolution of platform capabilities.
What You Bring
Essential Experience & Capabilities
  • Strong track record in new business development, account growth and selling SaaS and/or environmental solutions.
  • Experience developing and delivering go-to-market strategies and building networks in target sectors.
  • Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and presenting at workshops, seminars or conferences.
  • Ability to manage projects, pipelines and deadlines effectively.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong commercial instincts.
  • Experience selling or scaling net zero or sustainability software.
  • Understanding of regulatory and market trends in net zero and energy management.
  • Experience leading bids and proposal development.
  • Ability to answer high-level questions on the technology stack or system design.

  • Excellent project and pipeline management.
  • Commercial, entrepreneurial thinker able to identify and create value opportunities.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong presentation, influencing and storytelling skills.
  • Proactive, results-driven approach.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI and Office 365 (desirable).
  • Basic understanding of Azure DevOps (desirable).
  • Additional language skills (e.g., German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese) are a bonus.
