  • Manage a complex and varied caseload with appropriate supervision, guidance, and support.
  • Prepare written statements and represent cases at court hearings within legislative and procedural frameworks.
  • Make critical decisions regarding caseloads using professional judgement, evidence-based tools and reflective practice.
  • Apply social work theories, models, and interventions to support children, families, groups, and communities.
  • Assess risk and need in complex situations, delivering services to children who are at risk, in need, or looked after.
  • Lead multi-agency partnerships and coordinate plans to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
  • Communicate effectively in high-risk situations and support colleagues in developing these skills.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary forums and undertake the role of Chair when required.
  • Engage in direct work with children and families in line with agreed care plans.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, partner agencies, and professionals across organisational boundaries.
  • Promote the voice of the child and ensure their wishes and feelings are central to decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with statutory and organisational requirements.
