Social Worker – Social Worker (NRPF & Homelessness) – Ageing Well Service

Salary - £44,075 to £49,282 (Grade 7)

Location – Hybrid working and various locations in the city

Full time, permanent

About the Role

We’re looking for passionate Social Workers to deliver trauma-informed, person-centred support to adults experiencing homelessness, including those with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF). You’ll work proactively with individuals facing a range of needs and facing multiple exclusion, ensuring compliance with the Care Act 2014 and Adult safeguarding principles.

What you’ll do
  • Build trusting relationships with people who may be reluctant to engage.
  • Complete high-quality Human Rights Act assessments for those with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF).
  • Collaborate with housing, health, substance misuse, and voluntary sector partners.
  • Drive systemic change and embed learning from Safeguarding Adult Reviews.

You will:

  • Be dedicated to and passionate about working with adults with a range of needs and their carers / families
  • Have a sound working knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Have strong analytical, assessment and negotiation skills
  • Be passionate about strengths-based working
  • Be able to demonstrate you can work with colleagues and alongside service providers, partners and commissioners
  • Have strong interpersonal, communication and IT skills
  • Be registered with Social Work England
  • Be a Practice Educator, Best Interests Assessor or Approved Mental Health Professional.
  • Have a vision for your own development
  • Have completed the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) or an equivalent post qualifying pathway

Our working arrangements

All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empower employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed work style work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field work style are usually allocated where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location. Roles with a flexible style have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
