In this rewarding role, your core focus will be on delivering direct, face-to-face support to young people. You will be the trusted professional conducting initial assessments, building therapeutic relationships, and guiding them through their care journey. A typical week will see you balancing a varied caseload, from providing one-to-one support to collaborating with families and partner agencies. You'll be a key player in our duty system, using your clinical judgement to triage new referrals and prioritise needs. Crucially, you will be our expert in proactively managing risk and safeguarding, ensuring every young person receives safe, effective, and compassionate care when they need it most.

1. Job Purpose
To provide a high-quality, specialist mental health service to children, adolescents, and their families within the Fylde and Wyre area. The post holder will act as a named practitioner, undertaking autonomous assessments, formulating care plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions. A key function of the role is to manage clinical risk effectively and contribute to the teams duty and triage system.

3. Person Specification
Criteria EssentialDesirableQualificationsRegistered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registrationORQualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.Post-qualifying training in a relevant therapeutic modality (e.g., CBT, DBT, Family Therapy).
Experience & Knowledge Significant experience working with children and adolescents with a variety of mental health presentations. Proven experience in autonomous assessment, care planning, and risk management. Demonstrable experience in a duty/triage role, prioritising a complex caseload. Direct experience of safeguarding and child protection work within a CAMHS or children's service context. Knowledge of the mental health act, capacity act, and child care legislation. Experience of contributing to service development initiatives. Knowledge of specific therapeutic interventions for children and young people.
Skills & Abilities Ability to work independently and as part of an MDT. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a demanding workload. Competent in completing hospital discharge plans. Commitment to providing face-to-face clinical work. Skills in delivering group-based interventions. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Hours:37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
