As a Qualified Social Worker within Hounslow, you will have exciting opportunities to work within diverse teams across Adults Social Care.

“We all want to live in the place we call home, with the people and things we love, in communities where we look out for each other, doing the things that matter to us.” (social care futures)

Working within the full legal framework of Social Work functions, you will assist residents and carers to identify their needs, assets and strengths, and desired outcomes, helping them to formulate a care plan/support plan where appropriate and, where indicated, to use their Personal Budget to set up individually tailored services to achieve desired outcomes. Our emphasis is on person‑centred, assets‑based, relationship‑based practice.

You will be key in protecting the Human Rights of our residents and carers and working with them to promote their safety in line with the Council’s and the Multi‑Agency Adult Safeguarding Policy & Procedures. You will be instrumental in formulating protection plans, carrying out safeguarding enquiries and participating in outcome meetings.

Our Benefits

We offer a stable, dedicated team of Social Workers and Social Work Assistants with clear career progression and development opportunities. Recent qualified staff complete the Assisted and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme, which provides a protected caseload, enhanced support and critical reflection groups. Opportunities for further specialist training include Best Interest Assessor, Practice Educator training, Approved Mental Health Professional training, and leadership and management training.

We provide thoughtful support for training, coaching and mentoring, flexible and remote working arrangements, and cover your Social Work England registration fees. Caseloads are allocated based on experience, complexity and interests.

Each team has specific roles and responsibilities such as ensuring residents receive appropriate support following hospital discharge, assessing adults under the Mental Health Act, undertaking safeguarding enquiries, mental capacity assessments, and Court of Protection work.

We recruit Qualified Social Workers for each of these teams, with specific teams including a separate full‑time AMHP staff and a dedicated Adult Learning Disability and Autism Service (ALDAS) that supports adults with learning disability and/or Autism with care and support needs.

Supporting you

We will provide regular reflective one‑to‑one supervision from experienced Social Work Managers. As you progress, you will receive support for further training for managers such as Level 3 and 5 Leadership, and coaching and mentoring schemes. Our flexible and remote working arrangements allow our workforce to balance work with family and other personal commitments.
