Children's Social Worker - Amber Valley Locality

Derbyshire County Council is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Children's Social Worker to join our supportive team in the Amber Valley Locality. This is an exciting opportunity to undertake crucial frontline work, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people across the area.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be managing a varied and challenging caseload, which will include:
- Frontline Caseload:Holding and managing a complex caseload consisting of Single Assessments, Child in Need (CIN) cases, and Child Protection (CP) cases.
- Assessment & Planning:Undertaking comprehensive assessments, developing robust and outcomes-focused care plans, and effectively reviewing progress.
- Court Work:Preparing reports and statements for court proceedings and attending court as required to represent the local authority and the best interests of the child.
- Safeguarding:Demonstrating expert knowledge and commitment to safeguarding children, working in line with the latest statutory guidance and procedures.
- Experience:Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years' post-qualifying experience in frontline Children's Social Work (e.g., CIN/CP/Looked After Children teams).

Candidate Profile
- A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW).
- Current registration with Social Work England (SWE).
- Proven ability to manage risk effectively and make difficult decisions under pressure.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle for travel across the Amber Valley area.
