Job summary

Lincolnshire County Council seeks a Level 1 Social Worker to join the Mental Health team. You will assess needs, manage risk and coordinate care with individuals, families and professionals to promote wellbeing and independence.

A hybrid working pattern is offered with a nominated base and travel across Lincolnshire as needed. Applicants should be passionate about making a difference, demonstrate creativity in approach, and show flexibility to adapt to varying requirements.

About the Role

As a Level 1 Social Worker in our Mental Health team, you'll use your skills, knowledge, and experience to manage a varied caseload, working alongside adults with mental health needs to understand what matters to them. You will carry out assessments of need, manage risk and co-ordinate care using strengths-based, person-centred practice. You’ll develop care and support planning in partnership with individuals, families, community, education, and health professionals helping people to live as independently as possible while promoting wellbeing and safety. The role offers the opportunity to further develop your social work practice within a supportive Mental Health Team. The individual is at the centre of everything we do. Our ongoing commitment is to provide the highest possible standard of support for the people we serve and those who care for them. You must have the ability to travel across Lincolnshire in order to meet the needs of the service.

About the Team

We are a team of Social Workers, Social Work Assistants based across 3 teams in Lincolnshire. We strive to be proactive and use a Strengths Based Approach, to enable our customers to live as independently as possible. We put the customer at the centre of the process and advocate their wishes to achieve the best possible outcomes. We are a supportive team and welcome the different strengths and experiences new people bring.

Work Conditions

In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

We have embraced new ways of working and hybrid working will be a feature of this role. You will be given a nominated contractual work base and you will be required to commute to this work base when necessary. Working arrangements regarding hybrid working will be discussed as part of the appointment process.

Our technology platform and equipment is very good enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We require that you have in place good connectivity, and we will discuss during the recruitment process if support with this is needed.
