Job summary

A local government authority in Glenfield is seeking a qualified Social Worker to provide support in assessments and risk management while offering flexible working options. This role includes a competitive salary range of £39,939 to £42,699 plus an additional market premium payment.

Job description

The team is knowledgeable, friendly and supportive, with a wealth of contacts and experience in the extensive LD&A community and provider network within Charnwood. They have weekly Group Supervision Meetings to promote the best possible outcomes for the people we work with. All staff benefit from regular manager supervision, manageable workloads and support from specialist teams within the department (such as finance or legal services). We are keen to support employees to balance their working life with other commitments. Wherever possible, we will consider working arrangements that suit an individual's personal circumstances while still meeting the needs of the Council. Qualifications
  • Have knowledge of social work methodologies, social care policies such as person‑centred approaches and asset‑based social work, and relevant legislation including The Care Act, Mental Health Act, and Mental Capacity Act.
  • Have experience of effective assessment and risk management delivery, complex safeguarding, court of protection and multi‑agency/multidisciplinary working and/or hospital discharge processes.
  • Have experience of partnership working with adults to identify and meet need with creative and pragmatic solutions.
  • Be a confident communicator who is skilled in diplomacy, persuasion, assertion and conflict management and able to build effective working relationships.
  • Be able to work proactively individually but also as a team member.
  • Have good prioritisation and time‑management skills and have a valid UK driving licence or access to a vehicle.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for this role. A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
