Salary Up to £30.57 per hour depending on experience

Social Worker – Kinship and Fostering Team, Hereford UK, £24.37–£30.57 per hour hourly. We are seeking a skilled Social Worker for our Kinship and Fostering Team in Hereford for a 3-month locum role. This is a dynamic opportunity to impact the lives of children and young people by supporting kinship carers and fostering families. Offering full-time hours of 37 per week, we are looking for someone who can navigate the complexities of assessments and support while enhancing quality and stability in placements.

What you will do:

  • Conduct thorough assessments for Connected/Kinship Foster Carers and potential Special Guardians, collaborating with agencies and services to promote placement quality.
  • Prepare analytical and comprehensive reports within set timescales for both Court and Foster Panels.
  • Provide ongoing support and supervision to approved kinship and fostering caregivers, ensuring they have the backing required to thrive in their roles.
  • Oversee private fostering and offer continual support to Special Guardians post-order, ensuring children and young people receive consistent care.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and safeguarding practices within Kinship care.

To succeed in this role, you must be fully qualified with a minimum of three years’ recent experience in a statutory setting, preferably within Kinship and Fostering. Registration with Social Work England and access to a car are essential.
