Vale of Glamorgan Council seeks a qualified Social Worker to join the Intake Team in Barry. You will undertake assessments, section 47 enquiries, and determine longer-term plans for children and families.
The role requires collaboration with partner agencies and a commitment to safeguarding, with enhanced DBS for Children. You will be part of a fast-paced team in Ty Jenner, Barry, and work 37 hours per week with flexible patterns.
Would you like to be part of delivering services for children and families that are flexible, focused on need and readily available when families need them? We are now seeking a full time Social Worker to with the expertise and skills to deliver great practice in our Intake Team. You will complete a range of assessments, conduct section 47 enquiries and establish whether longer term plans are needed by families. You will also issue court proceedings where needed, and get involved in private law work. This is a fast paced team where every day is different. This is an exciting time to join the Vale of Glamorgan Children and Young People Services as we have expanded our workforce to meet demand, and to ensure workloads are manageable so we can deliver meaningful, purposeful services.

Grade 8, SCP 26 – 30 - £37,280 - £40,777 p.a (pro rata). + £5000 enhancement/ Grade 9, SCP 31 – 35 - £41,777 - £46,142 p.a (pro rata) + £5000 enhancement
Salary on appointment will depend upon qualification and experience as determined by the appointing officer. There is no automatic progression from Grade 8 to Grade 9
37 hours / Full time (mutually beneficial work patterns can be agreed)
