Cambridgeshire County Council is looking for dedicated and passionate Social Workers to join our Family Support and Safeguarding Team. Location, Flexibility & Pay
  • Office Base: Huntingdon (PE29 3AD) and Wisbech (PE13 2JD).
  • Working Pattern: Hybrid working (office, home, and visits).
  • Flexible Working: Compressed hours (5 days in 4) and a 9-day fortnight are available from day one (subject to team fit).
  • Salary Range: £40,735 to £43,516 per annum.
  • Benefits: Relocation package available, and we offer a sponsorship swap.
  • Retention Payment: Attractive payments start after the first year (e.g., £1,018 after 1 year; £4,074 after 3 years).
Key Duties

You will provide a high-quality, effective social work service to vulnerable children and their families, using the Family Safeguarding model and a strengths-based approach.

Your main responsibilities include:
  • Providing professional leadership and specialist social work practice skills to manage situations involving risk or complexity.
  • Ensuring the voice of the child is heard and informs all decision-making.
  • Using our practice methods, including The Big 6 (Genograms, Chronology, etc.), to engage with families.
  • Acting as the lead professional for safeguarding and ensuring adherence to statutory guidance.
  • Producing coherent, analytical, and evidence-based reports and plans for various forums, including court.
  • Working jointly with multi‑agency colleagues to develop effective plans.
