This vital role offers a competitive hourly rate of £35.00 and a flexible working pattern that includes day, evening, and weekend shifts — with every third weekend off to ensure a balanced work‑life rhythm.

This is a role for those who thrive under pressure and are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families. You’ll be part of a dedicated and supportive team, working collaboratively with partner agencies to provide a swift and effective safeguarding response outside normal working hours.

What You Will Do:

Deliver high-quality social work services to vulnerable children and families, ensuring compliance with statutory and departmental requirements.

Manage a caseload of complex cases, performing assessments, planning, implementing, and reviewing tailored social work interventions.

Conduct urgent assessments and decision‑making in out‑of‑hours situations, ensuring children’s safety and wellbeing at all times.

Work collaboratively with the Integrated Front Door and daytime teams to ensure continuity and effective follow‑up support.

Maintain professional standards in line with Social Work England’s Code of Practice, promoting best practice and ethical conduct.

Record and share accurate information efficiently within the case management system and with partner agencies.

  • Mon‑Thurs 5pm, until 8.30am, Friday 4.30pm until 8.30am and Saturday – Sunday evenings 5pm – 8.30am and Saturday and Sunday day time 8.30am – 5pm.
