A leading local authority is seeking Emergency Duty Social Workers to work in their Children's Services Department. Candidates must have a professional qualification in social work and be able to handle complex situations. The position requires working a flexible rota, including nights and weekends. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills across both Adults and Children services, with competitive salaries ranging from £32,294.90 to £47,181 based on hours and experience.
Do you thrive in fast-paced environments where every decision can make a real difference to someone's life? Are you passionate about safeguarding children and vulnerable adults even during the most critical out-of-hours situations? Do you want a role where your expertise in risk assessment and crisis intervention truly matters? You must hold a relevant professional qualification in social work, be registered with SW England and demonstrate substantial and contemporary post qualifying experience in childcare/child protection work, adults/safeguarding adults or hold an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) status under Mental health legislation. If coming from a children or adults background you must be willing to undertake training for your AMHP status. You must be available to work on a rota basis across 7 days including overnight and high demand times. You will bring with you a proven track record of success, be able to effectively communicate in a multi-agency environment and have the ability to risk manage complex situations. A working knowledge of an out of hour's service would be preferable. In addition, you will need drive and enthusiasm to work in this strategically important service at a time of increasing demands, challenges and service developments.
This is an exciting opportunity to expand your knowledge and experience as this service is generic across both Adults and Children and includes Mental Health Act work. The Children's Services Department within Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council provides an out of hours Emergency Duty Social Work Service, covering evenings, weekends and bank holidays, to all five Tees Valley Local Authorities.
