Working in a hybrid style, based at home and the Charleston Social Work office c/o Balgarthno School Campus, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.

Requirements
  • Social Work Degree, CQSW, Dip SW, CSS (with appropriate option)
Responsibilities
  • Provide an effective high quality social work service to children and families.
  • Assist children and families to live safely in the community and prevent reception into care.
  • Work with children in care towards rehabilitation with their families of origin or towards permanent placement with substitute families.
The Individual
  • Demonstrate knowledge of child care and protection practice, legislation and be committed to multi‑agency working and bring a positive attitude to your work.
  • Have experience of working with children and families and understand the needs of children who are ‘looked after’.
  • Commitment to promotion of positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • Communicate effectively with children, involving families and carers in decision making processes.
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments within given timescales.
  • Work beyond normal hours when needs of children and families require this.
  • Be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified timeframe.
  • Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007; preferred candidates required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment by Dundee City Council.
