Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative recruitment agency, has a new permanent Social Worker role in the Children Looked After Team to work full time in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £39,186 per annum.

You will safeguard and promote welfare, assess needs, plan and review social work practice, and support children, families and carers while managing risk and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
• Understanding of relevant legislation.
• Registered or eligible for registration.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard and promote the welfare of children/young people and support families and carers.
• Assess the needs and circumstances.
• Plan, carry out, review and evaluate social work practice with them and other professionals.
• Support them, to represent their needs, views and circumstances.
• Manage risk to children, young people, families, carers, self and others.
• Manage supervision and support for your own social work practice.
• Assist and provide advice to families and carers.
• Maintain accurate and up to date knowledge of skills and resources by training and supervision.
• Keep accurate and up to date records.
• Contribute to/undertake the assessment and supervision of students, support new staff by coaching and taking part in joint work with less experienced staff to support them in their casework.
• Carry out any other duties as defined by the Director of Children’s Services.

• To assist and provide advice to families and carers.

• Contribute to/undertake the assessment and supervision of students, support new staff by coaching and taking part in joint work with less experienced staff to support them in their casework.
