Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Children's Social Worker for the Kinship Assessment Team in Exeter. This rewarding role focuses on completing high-quality assessments for court and fostering panels, while supporting temporary carers. Ideal candidates will have a Social Work qualification, relevant experience in social care, and strong communication skills. This position offers up to £38.00 per hour with responsibilities including assessments, advocacy, and documentation.

Qualifications

  • ASYE completed.
  • Experience in multi-agency work & court settings.
  • Knowledge of fostering regulations, children's legislation & practice models.

  • Complete robust Kinship & Fostering assessments for Court and Panels.
  • Support temporary carers with supervision, guidance & ongoing contact.
  • Advocate for children & young people across Devon.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and fostering standards.
  • Maintain accurate recording, planning & documentation.

🕘 Mon-Fri | 09 : 00-17 : 00

💷 Up to £38.00 per hour (Umbrella)

Join Devon CC's Kinship Assessment Team, completing high-quality assessments for Court and Fostering Panels, while supporting kinship carers through temporary approval and regular supervision. This is a rewarding role within a vibrant, child-focused service that values strong, restorative practice.

📄 Complete robust Kinship & Fostering assessments for Court and Panels.

🤝 Support temporary carers with supervision, guidance & ongoing contact.

🧒 Model high-quality social work aligned with statutory responsibilities.

🔍 Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and fostering standards.

🚗 Cover caseload allocations and visit children as required.

✨ Skills & Experience Needed

🎓 Social Work qualification + SWE registration

  • ️ ASYE completed

🧩 Experience in social care, multi-agency work & court settings

📚 Knowledge of fostering regulations, children's legislation & practice models

✍️ Strong written & verbal communication skills

🗂️ Excellent assessment & recording abilities

🚗 UK driving licence + access to a car
