Job summary

A reputable recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Children's Social Worker in Credition to join the Assessment & Intervention Service. In this full-time role, you will complete assessments, build relationships with children and families, and contribute to a Local Authority during an improvement plan. The position requires an office presence of 5 days a week during duty weeks and offers a mix of office and community work.

Are you an experienced Social Worker passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families? We are currently recruiting for dedicated Children's Social Workers to join the Assessment & Intervention Service in Exeter, working Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in one of England's most beautiful counties while supporting children, young people, and families to achieve safety, stability, and positive outcomes.

About the Role

As an agency Social Worker within Devon's Assessment & Intervention teams, you will:

  • Complete Child & Family Assessments and, where necessary, Section 47 Child Protection enquiries.
  • Build strong, meaningful, and restorative relationships with children, young people, and families.
  • Visit children and respond to service needs promptly - some home working is available, but you must be able to attend the office and travel to visits as required.
  • Support a Local Authority currently progressing through an Ofsted Improvement Plan, requiring robust, experienced practitioners with strong practice standards.
  • Work alongside Specialist Practitioners who undertake Reg 24s, VA's, Pre-birth, and Parenting Assessments, allowing you to focus on core assessment and intervention work.
Team Structure & Expectations

You will be supported by Team Managers, ASYE Social Workers, and Family Practitioners.

Office presence is essential:

  • 5 days per week during duty week
  • 3 days per week during non-duty week

Full-time hours: 37 hours per week.

This role offers a balance of office, community, and home-based work (subject to service needs).
