Step into a pivotal role supporting vulnerable children and families as a Social Worker within the Child Protection Team in South Tyneside. This ongoing full-time locum position offers an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children, while working in a supportive, structured, and dynamic environment.
You will work under the guidance of a Practice Manager alongside support from a Senior Social Worker, managing an average caseload of around 16 children. Your work will involve children subject to Child in Need plans, Child Protection plans, and those progressing through public law proceedings—ensuring each child moves toward safe, stable, and permanent outcomes.

Complete accurate and timely case recordings in line with statutory requirements and organisational policies.
Conduct thorough assessments of family needs, risks, and strengths to support effective planning and intervention.
Work closely with the Senior Social Worker to gain guidance, oversight, and support for complex or high-risk cases.
