Overview

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for an Adult Social Worker within the Recovery Team to work full time based in Southend. The salary for this Social Worker job is up to £43,693 per annum.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that Social Work Team vision is reflected in work practices across Southend.
  • To work as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team is undertaking self-directed support activities using a person-centred approach.
  • To support service users and their families in having choice and control over the services they use, including Supporting People to Self-Assess and use Personal Budgets.
  • To facilitate a range of social work interventions, including group work, individual work, community work and crisis intervention.
  • To develop and maintain the highest possible standards of professional practice and skills within Southend on Sea Borough Council policies and procedures.
  • To provide regular supervision and guidance to staff they supervise.
  • Ensure the provision of individual, cost-effective packages of care and support within allocated budgets and defined Hospital Team.
  • Ensuring team members comply with policies, standards and procedures as agreed by the department.
  • Achievement of high levels of team performance ensuring that regular and timely reviews are undertaken and that national and locally determined indicators are met.
  • To provide professional and comprehensive casework and of appropriate, group work or other social work services to adults and their families/carers.
  • To gather, investigate, evaluate and analyse all necessary information on assigned cases, demonstrating clarity of assessment, reliability of information, evidenced conclusions and realistic action plans.
  • To positively contribute to the work of the team through participation in team events and meetings.
  • To ensure that all records and case files of users, groups and others for which the post holder is responsible are properly maintained, with full regard to the need to record the views of users and third parties.
  • Ensure that the Practice Leader/Service Manager is kept fully informed of problems arising from workload and seeking advice on these as necessary.
  • Other duties may be required.
Requirements
  • A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
  • Have a good working knowledge of the relevant legislation.
