Job summary

North Somerset Council is seeking dedicated and experienced Social Workers to join the Children in Care Team in Weston-super-Mare. You will be the allocated social worker for children with long-term care plans, undertaking assessments, care planning and therapeutic interventions in collaboration with other professionals.

You will be supported by a senior management team and enjoy a manageable caseload with regular reflective supervision within the Hybrid - 3 days remote work pattern.

Job description

We are seeking dedicated and experienced Social Workers to join our Children in Care Team. The Children in Care team provide Social Work services to children and young people who are in the care of North Somerset Council and have a care plan to remain in care on a long term basis. Our team work closely with the Fostering Service, Leaving Care Service and Virtual School.

We are looking for qualified Social Workers who have the necessary skills, experience and motivation to promote positive outcomes for children in care. The team work well together, and you will be supported by regular supervision.

In this role, you will be the allocated social worker for a number of children who are in care and whose care plan is long term care. You will undertake assessments, care planning and therapeutic interventions to support children in care. You will work collaboratively with other professionals in order to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to improving outcomes for children, young people and their families.

You will be supported by a senior management team, with a manageable caseload, high quality reflective supervision working in supportive and creative social work teams.
