A governmental health department is seeking a qualified individual to supervise and oversee social work and counseling services in Dorchester. The role requires a Master’s degree in Social Work and significant experience in clinical social work. The ideal candidate will have experience in substance use disorder treatment and must possess or be eligible for a Certified Social Worker-Clinical license.

The main purpose of this full-time position will be to:
Supervise and oversee social work and counseling services in the behavioral health outpatient program; Make recommendations for the maximum utilization of existing services and for additional or expanded services; and Assure the quality of those services through staff development and supervision.
Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners under the licensing requirements for Social Workers.
Experience: Six years experience rendering clinical social work services in a health care or treatment setting subsequent to the receipt of an approved Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.
At least two years of the experience must have involved directing a clinical services program or unit or supervising Social Workers with Master's degrees.
Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in Social Work classifications or Social Work specialty codes in the Social Science, Psychology, and Welfare field of work on a year‑for‑year basis for the required experience.
The desired candidate should possess experience in substance use disorder treatment.
