What you will do
  • Provide a high-quality social work service to children, young people, and their families, ensuring their welfare is safeguarded and promoted.
  • Conduct a range of assessments in accordance with government and local guidelines, preparing, presenting, and implementing plans based on these assessments.
  • Support children and their families, ensuring a safe environment within the family network.
  • Initiate Care Proceedings when necessary, attending court and representing the local authority.
  • Prepare and present reports for court proceedings, child care reviews, and planning meetings.
  • Manage your workload effectively, seeking support and suggesting solutions when needed.
  • Commission services designed to minimise risks and improve the well-being of service users and their carers.
  • Engage with individuals, families, carers, and communities, offering choices and linking them to support networks.
  • Work towards re-unification of children with their families where short-term separation has occurred.
  • Maintain awareness of safeguarding issues and address them appropriately through professional channels.
  • Ensure practice is guided by evidence, policy, and procedures to uphold individuals’ rights and promote problem-solving skills.
