Cardiff Children’s Services are seeking a number of Social Work Assistants (Grade 6) to join our dedicated teams working with children and families.
Successful candidates may be placed within the Locality North 4 Team or other service areas, depending on need.
You will work closely with the Principal Social Worker (PSW) and Team Manager, supporting the delivery of services and holding a small caseload where required.

Assist with case allocation and management of a small caseload.
Support social workers and managers in delivering high-quality services to children and families.
Prepare and present information to support decision-making and care planning.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with council policies and procedures.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to achieve positive outcomes.
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Candidates with relevant qualifications or experience in the following areas may attract a premium hourly rate: Youth work, Speech and language, Occupational therapy, Counselling, Delivery of CBT/DBT skills.
