Job summary

UN Global Compact Network UK is seeking a Social Sustainability Programme Lead to shape and deliver high‑quality programmes, thought leadership, and practical guidance on social value and the just transition. The role convenes stakeholders, translates employment law and due diligence expectations into actionable insights, and drives knowledge sharing across member companies and partners.

The position is hybrid in London, with a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement, research, and policy

Qualifications

• Expertise in corporate social sustainability, human rights due diligence, and workforce inclusion.
• Experience designing and delivering social sustainability programmes for SMEs (NGO, consultancy, or corporate function).
• Knowledge of UK/EU regulatory landscape and its implications for business practice.
• Experience in policy engagement or advocacy.
• Experience in programme or project management, with ability to plan and deliver independently in a small organisation.
• Strong research and analytical skills to generate thought leadership and reports.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to adapt for senior/expert audiences.
• Collaborative, autonomous, and able to guide project managers within a small team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor regulatory developments and translate into programme content.
• Develop workplans, budgets, risk registers, and track KPIs for programmes.
• Identify funding opportunities and contribute to proposals.
• Generate thought leadership reports, briefings, and policy papers.
• Establish and nurture partnerships with stakeholders and organisations.
• Collaborate with project managers and Impact Team to ensure content quality.
