Could you play a key role in shaping the social media presence of the Church of England in Suffolk? If so, read on as the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich may have the perfect opportunity for you.

We are currently seeking to bring on board a Social Media Officer to create and deliver online content and campaigns that invite people to connect with their local church, deepen their faith and discover inspiring local stories of how the Church serves communities across the diocese.

The successful candidate will lead the planning, creation and delivery of content across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok, managing the process from concept and filming through to editing and publication. Working with the wider Communications team, you’ll also help ensure a consistent brand, ensure an engaging and effective presence across all social media channels and collaborate with colleagues across the diocese, helping to deliver events and produce a range of communications materials.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience of running digital and social campaigns and managing social media communities. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an awareness of social media trends and show a clear understanding of the role of social media within digital marketing and communications, along with an understanding of GDPR, safeguarding and photograph permissions for use in social media. You should also be comfortable and confident communicating the mission, ministry and Christian faith of the Church of England in public digital spaces, although prior experience of this is not essential.

As the role will involve some travel around the diocese filming content and attending events, you will need to have a valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle to be considered.

We’d love to hear from you if you feel this is an opportunity you may be interested in!
