Position:
The StandWithUs UK is looking for a passionate team player who loves Israel and wants to make a difference. This person will join a team that leads the battle against antisemitism and anti-Israel campaigns every day on social media, and helps educate the public about major events. The Social Media Manager is a full-time, position-based role flexibly in StandWithUs’ UK office. They report to the Managing Director and the Executive Director ("Supervisors").
Key Functions & Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Planning, initiating, and creating content to support StandWithUs UK’s efforts on all social and digital platforms. Finding potential viral items. Creation of original graphics and videos on social media.
- Monitoring breaking news to jump on and drive people to take action.
- Remaining highly available and responsive to urgent developments, including outside of standard hours, to ensure that StandWithUs UK is part of the real-time conversation when major events unfold.
- Research policies, politics, and the daily news cycle on an ongoing basis. Work closely with StandWithUs UK’s directors, assisting in the day-to-day needs of the department. Other duties related to specific projects, as assigned.
- Post and distribute video content on relevant social and digital platforms. Ensure correct messaging for all verticals. Proof content as required. Maintain the excellence of our digital content while building towards overall goals.
- Execution of the annual strategy, online campaigns and the day-to-day needs of the Department. Continue to expand the success of ongoing initiatives as part of our overall pro-Israel content strategy.
- Coordinate regularly with the international StandWithUs digital team to ensure alignment of messaging, collaboration on campaigns, and amplification of global content across multiple regions.
- Creating monthly reports, tracking our statistics and monitoring our reach, engagement, etc. on all platforms.
- Assist and maintain relations with other organisations SWU currently works with, and help create new ones.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Excellent social media skills and knowledge of leading platforms (Proven experience only)
- Great knowledge of Israel.
- News savvy – A strong background in studying and producing materials related to international affairs
- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Canva
- Experience with camera equipment and video filming for social media
- Creative writing and strong research skills (advantage)
- Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment required
- Availability to work outside standard office hours (9am–5pm).
- Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects (advantage)
Languages
English mother tongue, proficient in Hebrew
