- Five Star Security – Professional security for festivals, corporate events and live sites, covering crowd management, access control and site protection, with careful risk planning and quick incident response.
- Build Show Break – Skilled operators for festival site builds, show‑day stage cover and event breakdown, putting safety and quality first on every job.
Role Purpose
We’re looking for a full‑time Social Media Executive who lives and breathes social media to run the channels for all of our brands. You’ll be the voice of Five Star Group online, and you’ll spend time on site at live jobs capturing the real, behind‑the‑scenes content that makes our work stand out. This is a hands‑on role with real ownership: you’ll plan, shoot, edit, post, engage and report, and help shape how we use social media across the business.
Our social media has two jobs:
- Recruit great crew. Attract, engage and convert the event crew, security staff and brand ambassadors we need, especially ahead of busy periods.
- Win and keep clients. Raise awareness of our services with event organisers, project managers, venues, production companies and other B2B buyers, with LinkedIn as the main channel.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and own a monthly content calendar for Five Star Crew, Motion People, Five Star Security and Build Show Break across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
- Set a clear content mix for each brand, balancing recruitment content with client‑facing content.
- Plan content around the events calendar, peak hiring periods and key industry moments.
- Monitor competitors’ social media activity and stay ahead of industry trends.
Content creation
- Attend jobs and events on site to capture photos, short‑form video, reels and interviews with crew and clients.
- Edit and produce platform‑native content, from TikTok and Reels to LinkedIn carousels, case studies and articles.
- Write engaging, on‑brand copy, with a professional B2B tone on LinkedIn and a more relaxed tone for recruitment content.
- Follow on‑site rules at all times, including client confidentiality (NDAs), filming permissions, artist and venue restrictions, and GDPR consent from anyone featured.
Publishing & community management
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages and mentions promptly, and pass recruitment enquiries to the right team.
- Support the Commercial Director and senior team to build their personal LinkedIn presence, e.g. drafting posts and thought leadership.
LinkedIn & paid social
- Grow our LinkedIn company pages as a lead source for new clients.
- Plan, run and optimise targeted and paid campaigns, e.g. LinkedIn Sponsored Content, Lead Gen Forms and Meta recruitment ads, within an agreed budget (desirable, not essential).
- Work with the recruitment team to promote live vacancies and drive applications.
Reporting & insight
- Track performance using native analytics and produce a simple monthly report with insights and recommendations.
- Keep up with platform changes, trends and competitor activity, and bring fresh ideas to the team.
- Maintain a well‑organised library of photo and video assets for use across the business.
Person Specification
- A real passion for social media and a good eye for what works on each platform.
- In‑depth, hands‑on knowledge of LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, including their algorithms, formats and analytics.
- Strong LinkedIn know-how for B2B audiences: company pages, content that builds credibility, and growing an engaged professional following.
- A proven track record of managing business social media accounts and hitting agreed KPIs, with examples and results you can share.
- Confident shooting and editing short‑form video and photos on a smartphone, using tools such as CapCut, Canva or Adobe Premiere Rush.
- Excellent written English, with the ability to switch tone between B2B and recruitment audiences.
- Well organised and self‑motivated, able to manage your own time and deliver when working remotely.
- Comfortable on busy event sites, approaching crew and clients for content, and working to site rules.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to travel easily to sites across the UK
- Right to work in the UK
- Experience planning and running targeted or paid LinkedIn campaigns (Sponsored Content, Lead Gen Forms, audience targeting, A/B testing).
- Experience running paid recruitment ads on Meta or TikTok.
- Experience in the events or live entertainment industry.
- Experience managing several brands or accounts at once.
- Knowledge of scheduling and analytics tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Later, Buffer, Sprout Social) and UTM tracking.
- A relevant qualification in marketing, digital marketing or media (e.g. CIM, Digital Marketing Institute or a degree).
Working pattern
The role is 42.5 hours per week, worked on‑site, remotely and from the Five Star London office.
What we offer
- Hybrid working: 2 days in the London office, 1–2 days on site, rest from home
- Travel expenses covered for site visits.
- Behind‑the‑scenes access to live events and productions across the UK.
- Real ownership of the social channels for four brands, with the freedom to try new ideas.
- 33 days’ holiday entitlement, including bank holidays, pension and access to the Employee Assistant Programme for you and your family and friends.
- We’re passionate about developing our people. Grow with us, and this role offers a clear path to becoming our Social Media Manager
