Job description

Who we are

We create trusted, expert content that helps millions of people discover more about the things they love, need and care about. From technology, gaming and entertainment to fashion, lifestyle, sport, finance and beyond, our specialist brands connect people with their passions every day.

Across websites, magazines, newsletters, social channels and events, we bring expert content to audiences around the world. We combine our deep specialist knowledge with innovative technology and data to create engaging experiences, build valuable communities and help people make better-informed decisions.

Behind it all are our people - passionate experts, creators, innovators and problem-solvers who are shaping the future of media.

The Team You’ll Join

TechRadar exists for one simple, singular purpose: to help our readers buy, enjoy, and enhance the tech they love. We’re one of the biggest tech sites in the world, and we’re on the lookout for someone to help take our social channels to the next level.

The social and video team sits at the intersection of editorial and branded content, working closely with writers, editors, and producers to craft content that both informs and entertains. We’re expanding to further accelerate our distribution of short- and long form video as well as our presence on social platforms.

What you'll do

Reporting to the Head of Video, you'll execute TechRadar’s social media strategy across multiple platforms, engaging with and growing our audiences, wherever they are.

You'll create social-first content across a variety of organic channels and ensure that it meets brand guidelines and delivers commercial opportunities. You'll also work to maximise the potential of every single story we tell using social media, exploring new storytelling formats to do so.

On a daily basis, you'll design graphics in Canva or Photoshop, occasionally shoot, edit and distribute short-form videos, and schedule posts across platforms. You'll review engagement metrics using Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, and Looker Studio to refine strategies. Additionally, you'll attend events, interact with online followers, and collaborate with Future's central social media group.

What you’ll bring

  • An understanding of the world of technology and futurism. You'll have some kind of technology experience or interest, at least a loose grasp of terminology, and a wide-ranging taste in gadgetry is vital to connect with the communities around our brand

  • A love of content and storytelling and the ability to switch gears between content types, publishing a mix of gadget, futurism, science and robotics-focused content

  • Commercial awareness and experience

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience making social media content and growing an audience

  • Basic video editing skills

  • Previous writing and editing experience, especially in technology

What we offer

  • Uncapped leave

  • Enhanced parental leave

  • Discounted rates with Dental care and Private Medical care

  • When we hit our targets, enjoy a share of our profits with a bonus

  • Refer a friend scheme - with payment following the successful hire.

  • Well-being support with access to our Colleague Assistant Programmes

  • Opportunity to purchase shares in Future, with our Share Incentive Plan

  • Salary sacrifice Pension scheme up to 5% match

  • Free drinks and snacks in our offices

The expected range for this role is £29,000 - £35,000.

This is a hybrid role, working 3 days per week from our London Office, 2 from home.

Internal job family level E5

This is a fixed term contract role for 9 months.
