Overview

Permanent DailyMail, the world's largest English-language newspaper website with over 220 million unique monthly visitors globally, is looking for a talented Social Media Editor to join its industry-leading social team.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head of Social in scheduling and posting to all DailyMail social feeds and channels.
  • Proactively research and find the latest news and viral trends ahead of competitors.
  • Cover live events, TV shows and breaking news on existing and emerging social media platforms.
  • Create captions, headlines and thumbnails to generate article traffic to our 22 million Facebook audience.
  • Identify new trends, platforms and initiatives which can enhance the DailyMail brand.
  • Work across a seven-day rota and cover live-events as they happen.
  • Monitor article traffic using social media analysis tools and report back to the wider team.
  • Prior experience working with social platforms and crowdsourcing or experience managing social media platforms for a digital media publication is preferable.
  • Ability to gather and analyse social media data and analytics.
  • Good use of Adobe, including Photoshop.
  • Ability to use your own initiative and make effective decisions.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Understanding of all social media platforms including Facebook, X, Whatsapp and other websites.
  • Must be able to come to the office four to five days per week. The above list is not exhaustive and constantly evolving, based on the needs of the business. Out of hours availability and a high level of adaptability are essential.
