Reports to: Senior Social Worker Responsible for: Social Inclusion Support Worker Location: CISWO Pontypridd office-based with peripatetic delivery across designated communities (regional coverage tbc) Job Type: Part-Time, Permanent Hours: 30 hours per week (flexible pattern) Salary: £23,454 (Pro-rata of £29,317) CISWO is a national charity improving lives in communities affected by the coal mining industry.

We are developing a social inclusion outreach service and seek an experienced coordinator.

The Social Inclusion Service Co-ordinator will design, develop, and deliver an outreach programme to enhance physical and mental well-being, working closely with stakeholders, community partners, and our Personal Welfare Team.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, engaging, flexible, and passionate about supporting people and communities.

Job Purpose Support the design, development, and delivery of a social inclusion outreach service.

Responsibilities include managing the Social Inclusion Support Worker, coordinating services, engaging and assessing service users, and delivering activities that reduce social isolation and build community engagement.

Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver a holistic, inclusive, and stimulating activity programme across multiple community locations.

Ensure person-centred, safe, and responsive services, adapting to physical, cognitive, and emotional needs.

Promote a welcoming environment, including serving meals and refreshments.

Take a proactive role in safeguarding, reporting concerns to the Senior Social Worker.

Support and coordinate delivery teams, including freelancers and volunteers.

Maintain administrative systems for monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, producing high-quality reports.

Operate payment systems and maintain accurate records.

Coordinate logistics for mobile service delivery, including venues, catering, staffing, and equipment.

Establish and maintain positive partnerships with local stakeholders to enhance service reach and impact.

Promote the service through marketing, publicity, and referral strategies.

Continually review service provision with the Senior Social Worker, recommending improvements.

Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, including risk assessments.

Support budget monitoring, financial transactions, and resource allocation.

Attend training, staff meetings, and relevant external forums.

Perform any other duties reasonably required to meet organisational objectives.

Skills/Qualifications/Experience Essential: Experience designing and delivering outreach/community programmes in health, social care, or third-sector settings.

Excellent planning, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.

Knowledge and empathy for issues affecting older people, disabled adults, socially isolated individuals, and carers.

Experience of safeguarding vulnerable adults.

Ability to engage and motivate individuals with varying needs.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management systems.

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Strong teamworking, flexible, and creative approach to service delivery.

Good standard of education (GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English). Desirable: Qualification in social care, health, community development, or related discipline.

Experience managing projects or services, including staff/volunteer supervision.

Budget management and service evaluation experience.

Knowledge of former coalfield areas.

Food hygiene and First Aid qualifications.

Experience in health and safety risk assessments.

Basic Welsh language knowledge.

This role requires a satisfactory DBS check.
