Job summary

A community support organization is seeking a Social Inclusion Officer to develop and coordinate networking opportunities for individuals in Belfast. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of experience supporting vulnerable groups, including those with learning disabilities. The role offers a salary starting at £29,540 per annum for a 37-hour week with a permanent contract.

Qualifications

Job description

The Social Inclusion Officer will be responsible for developing, facilitating and coordinating social and community networking opportunities for service users living in the Mews.

Responsibilities
  • The Social Inclusion Officer will support the management, team leader and support worker team in ensuring meaningful activity is delivered in the service under Positive Behaviour Support Framework.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Education/Training/ Qualifications:3rd level qualification: QCF level 3/or equivalent level professional qualificationMinimum 3 years’ experience of supporting people with disabilities or other vulnerable individuals to enhance their community
  • Minimum of 1 years paid experience of supporting individuals with learning disabilities or autism spectrum disorder and complex needs.
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience supporting individuals with behaviours that challenge.
  • Effective verbal and written communication to include numeracy skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant public bodies and community organisations that can support social and community engagement opportunities.
