Job summary

BAM is seeking a dedicated Social Impact Advisor to join the KBJV Environment and Sustainability Team on the Devonport project in Plymouth. You will drive social value commitments, engage with local communities, schools and universities, and ensure stakeholder relationships underpin project delivery.

You will work across events, data collection and volunteering initiatives, shaping how we embed social value in day-to-day operations while supporting employment and skills activity with a focus on

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting or delivering social impact projects, ideally in infrastructure, utilities, environmental or community-focused programmes.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, coordinate and manage multiple activities.
• Ability to collaborate with and build relationships with stakeholders, including operational teams, clients, supply chain partners and local community organisations.
• Passion for delivering social value in the communities where we work.

Responsibilities

• Represent KBJV at events such as careers fairs, community events, school engagements, industry events.
• Ensure accurate data collection across the project and record it via Thrive to achieve KPIs.
• Collaborate with the project team to encourage strategic social impact initiatives.
• Identify volunteering opportunities within the project area to enhance local environments and communities.
• Maintain a stakeholder register of local organisations and groups to maximise Social Value.
• Deliver the KBJV Social Value Plan.
• Maintain Social Value calendar to ensure events are planned and coordinated, aligning to the Plan.
• Support departments with delivery of employment and skills and monitor their progression.
• Aid in creating case studies for PR and Marketing purposes.
• Perform other tasks as required with training and full support.

KierBAM Joint Venture (KBJV) is a partnership between Kier and BAM UK & Ireland's Infrastructure segment; they are currently delivering a large-scale infrastructure development within Devonport Royal Dockyard.

KierBAM Joint Venture (KBJV) is a partnership between Kier and BAM UK & Ireland's Infrastructure segment; they are currently delivering a large-scale infrastructure development within Devonport Royal Dockyard.

As a Social Impact Advisor, you will be working within an award-winning Environment and Sustainability Team to drive social value and wider social impact commitments across the project. This will require regular visibility across the project and maintaining excellent relationships with stakeholders both internal and external to ensure social value is embedded in how we work. The Social Sustainability Advisor will be the main link between KBJV and our local communities, schools, colleges, and universities to ensure that our commitment to social value is evident.

Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks.

Eligibility criteria: Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.

• Maintain Social Value calendar to ensure a diverse variety of events are planned and coordinated, aligning to our Social Value Plan.
• Supporting departments with delivery of employment and skills and monitor their progression.
• Aid with the creation of case studies for PR and Marketing purposes.

What do you bring to the role?

• Previous experience of supporting or delivering social impact projects and driving social value outcomes, ideally within infrastructure, utilities, water, environmental or community-focused programmes.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, coordinate and manage multiple activities.
• Ability to collaborate with and build relationships with a range of stakeholders, including operational teams, clients, supply chain partners and local community organisations.
• Passion for delivering social value in the communities where we work.

Desirable

• Experience of employment service, job coaching, recruitment would be advantageous.
