The Mental Health South team in Worcestershire are a team focused on supporting and empowering individuals to have the best mental well-being possible, to reach their goals, and to maximise the quality of life of those we support. We work closely with our colleagues in health, commissioning, safeguarding and other partner agencies to create creative care plans, manage risk in the community as well as supporting discharge plans from out of county and rehab mental health wards. We support individuals from 18+ with functional mental health conditions as well as co-morbidities and support the transition process from children to adult’s services when required.

We are passionate about the development of staff within the team and are a supportive, dynamic, and person-centred team of practitioners. At present we have staff undertaking apprenticeships in the team, staff completing their ASYE and those undertaking their AMHP training, as well as staff who have champion roles in particular areas of interest to them. We encourage regular reflection with fortnightly reflective practice sessions and have the social work academy who offer a range of training opportunities. We also have practice educators in the team and regularly welcome students on placement.
