Our homes are more than just a place to live, they're like a second family for everyone we support. Each home is a close knit community, with its own unique personality, and all the ups and downs of typical family life, built on trust and the promise of unconditional care. Our colleagues build close bonds with the people they care for, helping to create enduring, positive relationships that build confidence and self-esteem. In every Choice Care home there's a strong emphasis on living life to the full and having fun, with purposeful daily activities based on individual preferences and capabilities. Alongside this there are regular social events, projects, outings and holiday breaks which everyone can get involved in and express themselves through.

Where will you work?

Stroud Lodge is a large, extended, Victorian detached property, two miles from Gloucester City centre. The home supports nine men and women of varying ages with learning difficulties, autism and associated complex needs, including those with behaviour that challenges. The home has a modern fully-equipped kitchen where all food is prepared by the staff and residents. The daily menu is agreed and planned in advance, and people can choose alternative meals if they wish. Stroud Lodge is ideally located to take advantage of everything Gloucester has to offer, including Gloucester Leisure Centre, Gloucester Docks and shopping in the busy town centre. As well as an in house activity programme, everyone is encouraged to participate in a variety of community activities, including attending college courses, horse riding, cinema or theatre trips and eating out. Some of the residents also enjoy visits to the local beauty salon for a variety of treatments. The home has its own transport for local travel and recreational and educational excursions. The residents at Stroud Lodge are an adventurous bunch, and have recently enjoyed a series of foreign holidays, including trips to Rome and New York City.
