Job summary

NHS Highland invites applications for a Social Care Worker to support older people in a care home. The role involves leading a team, administering care plans, and ensuring high standards of service delivery in day shifts.

You will work as part of a team and on your own initiative, following instructions and communicating effectively in a demanding setting. You must hold SVQ2 in Social Care or equivalent, with a commitment to achieve SVQ3.

Job description

As a Social Care Worker your main job is to help older people living in the care home. This post is responsible for leading a team to support vulnerable adults within a residential setting covering predominantly day shift hours.

You must have the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative, follow instructions and possess good communication skills. You must be able to respond constructively to unpredictable situations and able to cope under pressure.

You must hold a minimum of SVQ level 2 in Social Care or equivalent (minimum required for registration with SSSC), a commitment to achieve SVQ 3 on Social Care.

Main Duties Include

• To administer mediation as prescribed
• Able to take responsibility as a key worker
• To support to reablement plans for service users
• To contribute to the planning, monitoring and recording of service delivery
• Ability to act as shift lead, with temporary overall responsibility of the care home
