Job summary

Choice Care is seeking dedicated Social Care Workers for shift work and weekend rosters at Chesham House, Southampton. Training is provided to develop skills for personal care, activity support, and medication administration.

You will join a supportive team focused on safe, happy, and fulfilling lives for residents with learning disabilities, autism or mental health needs. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds; the role offers in-house training and a clear career path, plus staff benefits

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Providing personal care including bathing, toileting, dressing and help with feeding.
  • Medication administration.
  • Assisting and taking part in residents' daily activities and outings.
  • Following care plan guidance and company policies.
  • Developing an open, honest, and considerate relationship with residents.
  • Attending and completing required training.

Job description

The role consists of shift work and weekends on a rota basis. Do you need more flexibility? Where will you work?

Chesham House, in Bitterne, Southampton, is a ten-bedroom residential home supporting men and women between 35 and 60, with mental health conditions and associated complex needs. Chesham House has its own Day Activity Coordinator who develops personalised programmes to support education and life skills, providing a range of engaging and meaningful activities, tailored to individual capabilities. There is transport for trips into town and further afield. Located on a quiet, suburban tree-lined street, Chesham House is close to local shops, educational facilities and employment opportunities. Local amenities include bowling, the cinema, and kayaking. Bitterne Leisure Centre is five minutes away, and provides a swimming pool and gym.
