The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting children and ensuring their safety during these sessions. We are looking for a Social Care Officer to work within our Family Time Service. Newcastle’s Family Time Service supports children and their families to spend quality and meaningful time together. We have a passionate, dynamic and enthusiastic workforce committed to supporting children and young people to feel safe, happy and healthy. As a Social Care Officer you will help support and promote supervised Family Time sessions between children and their parents and/or immediate family members in Newcastle who are receiving services from Newcastle Children’s Social Care. The role can involve working with emotional, challenging and vulnerable young people and their families.
You will be responsible for transporting children to and from their Family Time sessions and liaising with foster carers, families and schools. Family Time sessions will be observed and recorded with advice and guidance offered. You will contribute to providing an outstanding Family Time service, share information with Social Workers conducting assessments and provide families with advice and guidance to ensure the time they spend together is safe, fun and enjoyable.
