Job summary

Spectrum IT Recruitment is seeking a hands-on SOC Engineer to join a Cyber Security Operations team serving customers across finance, manufacturing, utilities and retail.

You will operate and tune security monitoring platforms, manage logs and telemetry, develop detection rules with SOC Analysts, and assist incident response and automation across critical infrastructure. Salary up to £45,000.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with security monitoring and incident response.
• Experience in 24/7 SOC/NOC environments.
• Ability to produce clear documentation.
• SC clearance capable.
• On-call rota flexibility.
• Experience with on-prem and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate and tune security monitoring platforms.
• Manage log ingestion and telemetry pipelines.
• Develop detection rules and playbooks with SOC Analysts.
• Support incident investigation and containment.
• Automate SOC tasks via scripting.
• Onboard systems into SOC monitoring.
• Document procedures and maintain runbooks.
• Collaborate with engineering to embed monitoring.
