Job summary

N-able in Dundee is seeking an SOC Analyst to monitor, investigate, and respond to security events as part of a 24/7/365 operation. The role is hybrid, with three days per week in the Dundee hub, offering hands-on experience from day one.

You’ll work with senior analysts to develop technical skills, contribute to incident investigations, and help improve monitoring, detection, and response capabilities across cloud, endpoint, and network security.

Qualifications

  • Foundational knowledge of security concepts, threats, vulnerabilities, and attack methods.
  • Understands networking concepts and protocols.
  • Familiar with security technologies such as SIEM, EDR, firewalls, antivirus, or vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor security alerts and events across cloud, endpoint, and network security platforms.
  • Investigate and triage security incidents under the guidance of senior analysts.
  • Escalate potential threats and suspicious activity following established procedures.
  • Support incident response activities, including evidence gathering and documentation.
  • Assist in the analysis of logs and security data from multiple sources.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation for investigations, processes, and findings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to help resolve security-related issues.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring, detection, and response capabilities.
  • Participate in training, knowledge-sharing, and development opportunities to build cybersecurity expertise.

We're looking for SOC Analysts to join our new SOC team in our Dundee hub. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team from the ground up, gain hands‑on experience investigating security events, and learn from experienced security professionals as the function evolves. As an SOC Analyst, you'll help monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts across the organization. You'll work closely with senior team members to develop your technical skills, contribute to incident investigations, and support the continuous improvement of our security operations. This role is part of a 24/7/365 security operation and may require participation in a shift schedule and on‑call rotation. The role is hybrid, requiring 3 days a week in the Dundee hub.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Bring
  • A strong interest in cybersecurity and a desire to build a career in Security Operations
  • Foundational knowledge of security concepts, threats, vulnerabilities, and attack methods
  • Understanding of common networking concepts and protocols such as HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, SSH, and LDAP
  • Familiarity with security technologies such as SIEM, EDR, firewalls, antivirus, or vulnerability management tools through coursework, certifications, internships, or previous experience
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt in a fast‑paced environment
  • Relevant education, cybersecurity training, or certifications such as Security+, Network+, Google Cybersecurity Certificate, SC-900, or similar are highly desirable
  • Previous experience in IT Support, NOC, Help Desk, Systems Administration, cybersecurity internships, or similar technical roles is a plus
