A veterinary practice in Scotland is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join their supportive team. The role offers a salary of up to £65,000 and a strong focus on work-life balance with flexible working hours. Enjoy the benefits of a well-equipped practice and a collaborative environment that values professional development. Ideal for those passionate about providing excellent veterinary care with a dedicated team.
Flexible working hours tailored to individual lifestyles and personal commitments, supporting genuine work‑life balance.
Modern, well‑equipped RCVS‑accredited practice with facilities including laser therapy, ultrasound, video endoscopy, and digital X‑ray.
Supportive and collaborative 14‑vet team, ranging from recent graduates to certificate holders, with strong clinical discussion and mentorship culture.
Attractive benefits package, including up to £65,000 salary, generous CPD allowance, 33 days annual leave, and enhanced family and wellbeing support.
Beautiful location in the Royal Burgh of Lanark, offering the perfect blend of countryside tranquillity and easy access to Glasgow.
A beautiful place to live and work.
The flagship hospital is based in the Royal Burgh of Lanark – a bustling market town nestled in the picturesque Clyde Valley. From scenic waterfalls and lochs to tranquil woodlands, there’s plenty to explore on days off. And for those who prefer city life, Glasgow is just a 40‑minute drive away.
Modern facilities and advanced equipment. The practice provides high standards of veterinary care across its Lanark hospital and branches in Lesmahagow and Wishaw. As an RCVS‑accredited, modern facility, it’s equipped with everything from laser therapy and video endoscopy to ultrasound and digital X‑ray.
An outstanding nursing team. The practice prides itself on a skilled and dedicated group of nurses who run regular clinics and provide 24/7 cover, ensuring consistent, high‑quality patient care.
A collaborative team of vets. The 14‑strong vet team includes both recent graduates and certificate holders, each bringing unique interests and experiences – from hiking and paddleboarding to baking. Regular clinical discussions encourage shared learning and support across all levels.
A healthy work‑life balance. While the team provides its own on‑call service, it’s structured to protect personal time. On‑call duties are shared evenly, currently at just one week in eleven, helping maintain that all‑important balance outside of work.
No two days are the same in this varied and rewarding role. Consults are typically 15 minutes, allowing time for thorough, high‑quality care. More experienced vets will be comfortable with occasional sole charge during on‑call duties, while less experienced colleagues will have full support from the wider team.
Friendly, proactive vets who are looking for a practice that values collaboration, flexibility, and genuine career support are encouraged to get in touch for an informal chat. The team would love to hear what the ideal role looks like – and how they can help make it happen.
