Job summary

Animals 1st based in East Lothian is seeking a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon for a full-time, temporary FTC 12 months. You will handle a varied caseload with consultations and surgeries, in a modern practice with strong team support and ongoing development opportunities.

You will join a collaborative clinical team with high standards of patient and client care, enjoying a balanced workload and a friendly, learning-focused environment.

Qualifications

• As a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon, you must hold a veterinary degree and be registered or eligible to register with the RCVS.
• Experience in clinical practice and confidence with routine medical and surgical cases is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Deliver consultations and manage a varied first opinion caseload.
• Perform routine surgical procedures and support medical work-ups.
• Contribute to inpatient care and continuity of cases.
• Work collaboratively within a supportive and experienced clinical team.
• Participate in a balanced mix of consulting and surgical duties.
